Laporte Township, PA (Sept. 24, 2026) – Three drivers were hurt in a three-vehicle crash on Route 220 after an SUV turning left struck an oncoming vehicle, Pennsylvania State Police said.
Troopers said the crash happened at about 9:45 a.m. on Sept. 24. Wendy L. Campbell, 58, of Muncy Valley, was driving a 2018 GMC Yukon south on Route 220 when she attempted a left turn onto Nordmont Road.
Campbell turned into the path of a northbound 2010 Chrysler Town & Country driven by an 82-year-old Dushore woman, troopers said. The Yukon and the minivan collided head-on.
After the impact, the minivan forced the Yukon into a counterclockwise rotation. The Yukon then struck a southbound 2020 Buick Enclave driven by a 60-year-old Colmar man, with its front end hitting the Enclave’s driver’s side.
All three drivers were wearing seatbelts and were taken to three different hospitals for suspected injuries, police said. Damage to all three vehicles was disabling. Campbell was issued a written warning for improperly entering or crossing the roadway.
A left-turn crash that involves three vehicles often means three separate insurance claims, three sets of medical bills, and three different versions of what happened. Sorting that out quickly matters.
Pennsylvania follows a modified comparative negligence rule, so a driver can still recover damages even if some fault is later disputed, as long as they were not more than half responsible (42 Pa.C.S. § 7102). A written warning for improperly entering or crossing the roadway can be relevant evidence, though it doesn’t decide every driver’s share of fault on its own.
Personal injury claims in Pennsylvania generally must be filed within two years of the crash (42 Pa.C.S. § 5524), which puts the deadline at Sept. 24, 2028 for anyone hurt in this crash.
Multi-vehicle crashes like head-on and left-turn collisions often involve overlapping insurance claims, disputed fault, and conflicting driver accounts, which is exactly the kind of case our trial attorneys handle across Northern Pennsylvania.
As a Pennsylvania car accident attorney serving Sullivan, Lycoming, Columbia, Luzerne, and Lackawanna counties from our Scranton and Wilkes-Barre offices, we represent drivers and passengers in three-vehicle crashes, left-turn accidents, rear-end collisions, and other serious auto accident claims across Route 220 and the surrounding highways of Northern Pennsylvania.
