Personal Injury Accidents in Pennsylvania

When injury and cause information haven’t been released yet, it usually means the situation is still being sorted out at the scene. That’s exactly when evidence like traffic camera footage and any available records matters most.

  • See a doctor promptly if you were involved, even if injuries aren’t immediately obvious
  • Avoid giving a recorded statement to any insurance company before speaking with an attorney
  • Preserve any photos, camera footage, or documentation from the scene once available
  • Do not accept a settlement before consulting an attorney

Pennsylvania follows a modified comparative negligence rule, so someone injured in a multi-party incident can still recover damages even if some fault is later disputed, as long as they were not more than half responsible (42 Pa.C.S. § 7102).

Personal injury claims in Pennsylvania generally must be filed within two years of the incident (42 Pa.C.S. § 5524).
