Briar Creek, PA (Sept. 27, 2026) – A motorcyclist was airlifted to a hospital after a head-on crash with a car on Columbia Boulevard. Police say the crash happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday.
The crash occurred on Columbia Boulevard, just north of Golf Course Road, in Briar Creek. Police said the driver of the car was making a left turn and failed to see the motorcyclist heading toward them.
The car struck the motorcyclist head-on, according to police. The motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and seriously hurt.
Crews arrived on scene, and the motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital. The driver of the car was not injured.
This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.
A left-turning driver who fails to see an oncoming motorcyclist is one of the most common causes of serious motorcycle crashes, and it’s also one of the clearer liability situations under Pennsylvania law.
Pennsylvania follows a modified comparative negligence rule. An injured rider can still recover damages even if some fault is disputed, as long as he or she was not more than half responsible (42 Pa.C.S. § 7102). In left-turn crashes like this one, investigators and attorneys typically examine sightlines, turn signals, and right-of-way at the moment of impact.
Personal injury claims in Pennsylvania generally must be filed within two years of the crash (42 Pa.C.S. § 5524). Based on the reported crash date, that deadline would fall around Sept. 27, 2028.
