Ashland, PA – Three Injured, Two Airlifted After SUV Collides With Dump Truck

Ashland, PA (August 10, 2026) – Three people were hurt Monday afternoon when their SUV collided with a dump truck in Schuylkill County, the Ashland Fire Department said.

Two of the three people hurt were flown to a hospital by helicopter, borough Fire Chief Charles Orth said. Their names and conditions were not available.

The collision happened just before 1 p.m. on East Centre Street at the Lehigh Avenue intersection in Ashland. First responders briefly shut down the street while crews worked the scene.

A Jeep occupied by three people appeared to have been struck by the dump truck. The impact caved in the Jeep’s rear. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Ashland borough police were investigating the crash as of Monday afternoon.

This is a developing story. Details may change as the investigation continues.

Car Accidents in Northern Pennsylvania, PA

If you or someone in your vehicle was hurt in this crash, the days right after matter for your recovery and for any claim you may need to file. The investigation is still open, so here’s what to do in the meantime:

  • See a doctor asap, even if you feel fine. Some injuries take hours or days to show up.
  • Keep records of everything: hospital visits, the helicopter transport, follow-up visits, and time missed from work.
  • Avoid giving a recorded statement to any insurance company before you understand your rights.
  • Do not sign or accept a settlement offer before an attorney has reviewed it.

Pennsylvania law generally gives injured people two years from the date of the crash, until August 10, 2028, to file a personal injury claim (42 Pa.C.S. § 5524). That clock is already running.
